The target indication radar is to provide all the air intelligence radars in the defense zone for the ground air defense forces. Usually, medium and short-range two-coordinate radars or three-coordinate radars with strong maneuverability and high data rate are used to enable antiaircraft artillery units, surface-to-air missile units, and ground-to-air radar countermeasures to quickly capture targets. The CS/RT3 target designation radar manual was displayed at the 2018 Zhuhai Air Show.
CS/RT3 Target Designation Radar
The CS/RT3 is a dedicated Target Designation Radar. It quickly acquires a target’s position and passes the data to a fire unit (e.g., a missile or gun system). Its function is to rapidly lock onto and handover targets, minimizing reaction time in air defense operations.
