Developed in China and able to produce an energy beam that can’t be seen by the naked eye, the ZKZM-500 laser assault rifle could change warfare as we know it. The “non-lethal” weapon weighs under seven pounds, has a range of over half a mile, and is said to be powerful enough to burn through a gas tank to ignite the fuel, or through clothing in a split second. The rifle produces no sound, is powered by a lithium battery pack and can fire more than 1,000 times on a charge.
The ZKZM-500 weighs 3kg, close to the weight of an AK-47 rifle. Powered by a rechargeable lithium battery pack, it is portable and platform-adaptable and can be installed on cars, ships and aircraft.
The range of action reaches 800 meters, and each firing time lasts two seconds. The laser can be fired 1,000 times, which is equivalent to firing hundreds of bullets. It fires lasers that can penetrate Windows and “instantly carbonize” the enemy’s skin. If the target is wearing flammable fabric, the whole person could be set on fire!
