As China’s leading military equipment exporter, we provide your nation with the world-class air defense capability essential for maintaining sovereignty. Our export-ready Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM) systems deliver layered, high-probability-of-kill defense against all aerial threats, from advanced fighters to emerging hypersonic vehicles. Invest in Chinese innovation to secure your airspace effectively.

What is a SAM Missile?

A Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM) represents a guided munition launched from a ground platform, designed to intercept and destroy airborne targets. SAMs form the bedrock of modern Integrated Air Defense Systems (IADS), protecting critical military infrastructure, vital assets, and urban centers from attack. Our systems neutralize threats including aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). We build our export systems, like the FK-3 (export variant of the HQ-22) and FD-2000 (export variant of the HQ-9), specifically for reliability and multi-target engagement capability.

Types of SAM Missiles

We categorize our export SAM systems based on operational range to ensure comprehensive, layered defense.

  • Short-Range Air Defense (SHORAD): These highly mobile systems protect moving ground units and specific locations, engaging targets within the closer defensive perimeter.
  • Medium-Range Systems (e.g., FK-3): These systems extend the protective dome, covering tactical assets and forward bases with ranges up to 100-150 km. They effectively target aircraft and cruise missiles.
  • Long-Range Strategic Systems (e.g., FD-2000): Offering deep area defense, these powerful complexes can neutralize threats at ranges exceeding 100-125 km. They specialize in high-altitude aircraft and even tactical ballistic missile interception, providing a strategic deterrent.

Acquire the layered protection necessary for true airspace control.

How Do SAM Missiles Work?

Chinese advanced surface to air missile systems utilize sophisticated guidance and engagement technologies to achieve a high kill probability. The system first detects and tracks aerial targets using a suite of advanced radars and sensors. The Command and Control (C2) center then processes this data, prioritizing threats and assigning the appropriate missile launcher.

Our export missiles employ combined guidance: radio command guidance directs the missile during the initial phase, seamlessly transitioning to semi-active radar homing (SARH) or track-via-missile (TVM) in the terminal phase. This robust guidance suite maximizes accuracy while significantly enhancing resistance to enemy electronic countermeasures (ECCM). The missiles travel at speeds up to Mach 4-6, carrying a high-explosive fragmentation warhead designed to destroy the target’s airframe upon proximity detonation. Order this proven technology to enhance your defense capabilities. Our systems are engineered to counter modern stealth and high-speed maneuvers.

We actively integrate all SAM components—radars, C2, and launchers—into a seamless defense network. This integrated approach allows multiple targets to be tracked and engaged simultaneously, ensuring a coordinated response against complex aerial assaults or drone swarms.
