The HQ-9BE (export version of FD-2000) is China’s premier long-range SAM system, analogous to the S-300/Patriot. It uses large, vertically-launched missiles to engage strategic targets, including aircraft, cruise missiles, and tactical ballistic missiles at extended ranges. It forms the backbone of China’s strategic homeland and theater air defense.

The HQ-9BE long-range surface-to-air missile system can intercept various air targets, including aircrafts, cruise missiles, air-to-surface missiles, as well as the TBM with the range of 1000km.
